ABOUT ERIN
I have always been a seeker. From as early as I can remember there has been a yearning in me to try and understand what this living thing is all about. In my earlier years I enjoyed testing my body’s capabilities and limits and seeing where it could bring me. I developed discipline from a pre-professional Ballet training in Boston which allowed me to explore my edges physically from running a marathon to hopping on a road bike to trek cross country. While I learned much about how my body functioned and how to rehabilitate it, I still dealt with an oftentimes overwhelming anxiety and restlessness. My greatest reprieves and moments of inspiration came from the gift of being able to explore the world from a young age and learn from different cultures which helped me see both how small I was in the spectrum of things and how connected we all are.
Because of my own struggles, grief, explorations and growth through the various layers that the human experience holds, I have always been devoted to understanding what is it that sparks us awake? How do we expand both our boundaries and interior edges? I took my first 200 hour yoga training with Jacqui Bonwell and David Vendetti in 2011 proceeded by a 200 hour anusara inspired training with Marc St. Pierre in 2013, a bhakti training with Janet Stone in Bali in 2016 as well as ongoing study with some of my mentors including Rod Stryker, Schuyler Grant, Ally Bogard and Georgia Reath (among many). I have been teaching since 2012, am a certified Reiki 2 practitioner, a certified holistic health coach and combined with a degree in political philosophy have been ever curious about how we arrange ourselves individually and collectively.
I have created and led numerous workshops, co-facilitated and have contributed to the curriculum of yoga teacher trainings on the north shore of Boston at Treetop Yoga and in San Francisco at Yoga Garden and Equinox, teach corporate yoga and mindfulness classes to fortune 500 companies and lead international retreats to the likes of Mexico, Morocco, Costa Rica, Bali, Tanzania as well as throughout the US.
I believe that yoga is for every body and should meet us where we are throughout all the stages of life. That when we slow down, we tune in. That attention to the breath helps us process what is going on in the body and mind. That meditation is medicine. And that there is magic to be found both by finding newness in everyday routine and in the way that travel can bring us back home to ourselves.
My aim is reestablishing a deeper connection within ourselves, facilitating our capacity to heal and be of more service in the world and my mission is the pursuit of awakening and living our fullest life. This is a life practice after all that helps us remember when we may forget. I hope to connect with you along the way online, on the mat or out in this great wide wondrous world.
